Jones Hall & Wortham Theater Center
In our recent project with Houston First Corporation, we provided the design and specifications for upgrading the old Tivoli style accent lighting to RGB neon rope lights at Jones Hall and the Wortham Theater Center. Our design included DMX controls and the ability to control both locations remotely. We are proud partners and supporters of ICS Energy Management Service who oversaw the installation of this project.
Sheldon ISD: Crenshaw Memorial Stadium

Crenshaw Memorial Stadium had outdated 1500W metal halide sports floods, requiring lamp/socket and ballast replacements, along with new contactors. We upgraded them to the LITELUME Sports Light Premium with factory-installed Synapse wireless controls, all within budget. This boosted illumination while saving over 50% on energy and included a reassuring 10-year LITELUME warranty.

The upgrade of the 79 Wing at Evans Library features Alphalite LED retrofit kits with smart building controls, and has yielded impressive results. Our solution consistently delivers an 81% reduction in daily energy consumption compared to the previous system. Over the course of a year, the 79 wing has achieved an 83% reduction in energy usage, translating to approximately $121,000 in annual utility savings!
In August 2023, this project was recognized by the DoE's Better Buildings #IntegratedLightingCampaign for it's novel application of advanced lighting technologies to achieve energy savings and other non-energy benefits.

We helped Texas A&M upgrade an office space from Lutron sensors to Autani Lite. This solution offers zoning, 24/7 light level adjustments, daylight harvesting, and the potential to include HVAC and plug load control for added savings and comfort customization.

We upgraded HEB's new facility with Alphalite's EHB2 series fixtures and BFPL adjustable flat panels. Our photometric analysis proved that these fixtures would still be producing the desired light levels after 10 years. Additionally, we helped HEB benefit from the CenterPoint utility rebate program, resulting in a $50k rebate. This project has saved our client 91.04kW and 680,315kWH.
Texas A&M Evans Annex Workshop

The Texas A&M Evans Annex Workshop had an existing installation consisting of old 2x4 parabolic fixtures with 3 T8 fluorescent lamps. They needed a minimum of 70fc at the table surface for detailed work. We introduced a modern lighting solution using Alphalite ILA series fixtures. For every two removed 2x4 fixtures, one 8ft ILA fixture was installed in their place. The results were impressive and well-received.
Jones Hall for the Performing Arts

Houston First contacted us for an LED upgrade at Jones Hall, with a focus on preserving the existing fixture housings and halogen color temperature. We successfully designed an LED retrofit kit that fits within the current housings, matching the halogens' output and color temperature. These new lights boast a 10-year lifespan and have lowered energy consumption 82% compared to the halogens.

GSC sought to modernize their new office's outdated parabolic troffers. We installed Alphalite IRT LED retrofit kits featuring Enlighted One sensors, which provide dimming and daylight harvesting capabilities that the original installation did not have. The outcome was a unified lighting layout, eliminating the office's typical parabolic "cave effect."
